Gretna East came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Blair, but Addi Svehla wouldn't allow it. The Bears had just enough and edged out the Griffins 3-2 for which the team can thank Svehla, who had 28 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Blair got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 20-25, 25-19, 21-25, 18-16.

Despite the defeat, Gretna East saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brooklyn Beethe had 13 digs and six assists.

The win made it two in a row for Blair and bumps their season record up to 13-8. As for Gretna East, they dropped their record down to 8-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Blair and Norris will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gretna East, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Elkhorn North at 6:30 p.m.
