Gretna East came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Blair, but Addi Svehla wouldn't allow it. The Bears had just enough and edged out the Griffins 3-2 for which the team can thank Svehla, who had 28 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Blair got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 20-25, 25-19, 21-25, 18-16.
Despite the defeat, Gretna East saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brooklyn Beethe had 13 digs and six assists.
