The Waterford Ravens were the 57-33 winner over the American Leadership Academy Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2014, but their luck changed this time around. Waterford fell to American Leadership Academy 53-49. Waterford has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Waterford still got an impressive performance from Carter Nielson, who scored 13 points along with four steals. Nielson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Hisham Ali, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Waterford's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for American Leadership Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-10.
Waterford will be playing at home against Draper APA at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Draper APA is ranked 132nd, while Waterford is ranked 118th). As for American Leadership Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
