In what's become a running theme this season, the Southern Durham Spartans gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past South Granville 61-10 at home. The win was familiar territory for Southern Durham who now have ten in a row.
Briana Hughes continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Jakayla Palmer was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine steals and six assists.
Southern Durham's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.1 points per game. As for South Granville, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern Durham will play host again and welcome Vance County, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Southern Durham's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for South Granville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Louisburg at 6:00 p.m. South Granville is facing Louisburg at the right time seeing as Louisburg is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
