It was a good run, but the Westbrook Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 47-23 defeat at the hands of Valley. Westbrook was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-6.
Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reese Cruse, who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds. The contest was Cruse's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Anna Ferrel, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Westbrook's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Valley, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Westbrook will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Colorado at 6:15 p.m. on December 12th. Colorado will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1097th, while Westbrook is ranked 498th). Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Seymour at 9:00 a.m. on December 2nd.
