Berkeley Prep was led to victory by Lila Grace Strain and Izzy Aves. Strain posted 20 points and three steals, while Aves went 5-for-10 en route to 10 points and six steals. Aves is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lila Flowers, who scored six points in addition to nine boards and four steals.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mia Milanes, who put up 13 points. Faith Delacruz was another key player, putting up ten points.
Berkeley Prep has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 49 points this season. As for Classical Prep, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Berkeley Prep and Classical Prep will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Buccaneers see the court they'll take on Sports Leadership & Management at 6:00 p.m. on the 4th. As for Classical Prep, their break will end when they face Weeki Wachee at 1:00 p.m. on the 3rd.
