The McLean County Cougars will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Cumberland County Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cumberland County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on McLean County, who comes in off a win.
McLean County can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They really took it to Evansville Bosse for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-10 victory on the road. The win was just what McLean County needed coming off of a 55-26 defeat in their prior game.
McLean County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna Miller out in front who scored 11 points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Sarah Larkin, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Cumberland County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap two weeks ago as they fell 46-40 to Clinton County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cumberland County has scored all season.
McLean County's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Cumberland County, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
