The Cascade Champions will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Fayetteville Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Cascade pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their rough 78-58 defeat to Brentwood might stick with them for a while. Cascade has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Cascade got a solid performance out of Sophie Ray, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Ray scored a full 41.4% of Cascade's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kaegan Young was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Fayetteville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 31-26 to Lakeland Preparatory.
Cascade's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Fayetteville, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Cascade took a serious blow against Fayetteville in their previous matchup back in January, falling 62-32. Can Cascade avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
