LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Janiece Robles of

Yelm (Yelm, Wash.) were selected for MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Players of the Week for games played the week of March 12-18.
East RegionRobles was 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 19 strikeouts, and hit .556 (5-for-9) to help the Pilots to a 3-1 mark in their opening week of play. The junior scattered six hits and did not walk a batter in her two starts, while also doubling twice and scoring five runs. In a five-hit complete game effort, she allowed an unearned run on five hits with 10 strikeouts in a 3-1 win over Tottenville. She followed that by tossing four shutout innings with nine punchouts against St. Joseph-by-the-Sea. At the plate, Robles scored a pair of runs versus Construction and Tottenville.
North RegionPeace went 6-for-9 (.667) with two doubles, a triple, home run, seven RBI in a doubleheader sweep of DePaul College Prep. In the opener she was a long ball away from the cycle and drove in two runs. In the nightcap, Peace went 3-for-4, doubled, homered and knocked in five runs. For the twinbill, she slugged 1.444 and generated a 2.111 OPS.
South RegionHeath batted .778 with 14 hits, seven that went for extra bases, 11 RBI and 13 runs scored. She slugged 1.667 with three triples, three homers and a double, while drawing three walks for an .810 on-base percentage. She drove in a season-best five runs and launched two long balls in a 6-1 win over Dorman. Heath, a senior, went 3-for-3 in back-to-back contests against Union County and Broome. She homered and scored three runs against the Yellowjackets and followed that with a double, triple, four RBI and three runs scored in a 13-2 win over the Centurions.
South Central RegionOver three games, Walcaser hit .727 (8-for-11) with two doubles, two home runs, nine RBI and seven runs scored. She slugged 1.454 and posted a .769 on base percentage. Against Van Buren, she went 3-for-3 with both of her home runs, three RBI and three runs scored. The sophomore drove in a season-best four runs with a pair of doubles versus Farmington. Walcaser also scored three runs and added two RBI in a victory over Fayetteville.
West RegionSchwaier led Yelm to three victories in the opening week of play. She went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA, allowed just three hits, struck out 29 and did not walk a batter in 12 innings of work. Schwaier twirled two shutouts and held her opponents to a .075 batting average. Additionally, she hit .625 with five hits, a home run, three RBI and a run scored. In the season opener against Aberdeen, the senior tossed a two-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts. Against Mount Si, Schwaier fanned 17 and allowed just one hit in a 5-0 victory.
