Despite the loss, Elm Creek had strong showings from Kendal Cavenee, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals, and Halle Knapp, who scored 7 points. Cavenee scored a full 33.3% of Elm Creek's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 14 to 3 on the offensive boards, a fact Alma proved on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 57-37 margin over Kenesaw. With that victory, Alma brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
Alma can attribute much of their success to Addison Siebels, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chayse Molzahn, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds.
Elm Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Alma, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
