Manchester Regional ran circles around Elmwood Park on Saturday, and the extra yardage (267.30 yards vs. 58 yards) paid off. Manchester Regional was the clear victor by a 34-6 margin over Elmwood Park. That result was just more of the same for the Falcons, who also won the last time these teams played (Oct. 26).
Manchester Regional's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 34 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Elmwood Park couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 34 to nothing heading into the break. Manchester Regional was outscored in the second half, but Elmwood Park's efforts were ultimately no more than a drop in the ocean.
No one put up better numbers for Manchester Regional than Kristian Mccoy, who really brought his A game. He rushed for 83 yards and one TD on 12 carries. In fact, with nine tackles Mccoy was a force on both sides of the ball.
The victory (their third in a row) raised Manchester Regional's record to 4-5. The Crusaders still haven't won a contest and fell to 0-9.
The Falcons will take on Caldwell at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday. The Falcons don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings. The Crusaders will look to defend their home field against Saddle Brook at 6 p.m. ET. The Crusaders are the slight favorite, but fans of both teams should be in for an exciting game likely to go down to the wire.
