Annawan-Wethersfield hasn't had much luck against Sherrard recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Maddux Heitzler made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Annawan-Wethersfield is 8-2 when Heitzler posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-8 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Cole Dynnes looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

Back at the plate, Pierce Childs was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Sherrard came up short against Brimfield on Tuesday and fell 7-3.
Harrison Curry made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Barrett Kincaid, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Sherrard's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.
