While Coventry Christian couldn't quite beat Clearfield Alliance Christian on Tuesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 25-point defeat they were dealt last Friday. Coventry Christian fell just short of Clearfield Alliance Christian by a score of 35-32. Coventry Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Coventry Christian saw an underclassman step up: Abby McCafferty scored five points along with 19 rebounds and six assists. McCafferty hasn't dropped below three blocks for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlin Cianci, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Coventry Christian has not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Clearfield Alliance Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
Coventry Christian will look to defend their home court on Thursday against High Point Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. Clearfield Alliance Christian is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Johnstown Christian at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. Johnstown Christian will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Clearfield Alliance Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
