The biggest upset of the week belonged to West Hills, who took down 185th ranked West Hills, 45-17.
Grossmont extended the longest winning streak in Grossmont - Hills this week by beating Steele Canyon, 42-35. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Anthony Lawrence was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 88 yards on eight carries as Grossmont beat the Cougars. Teammate Marlon Lampart added to the ground attack by rushing for 75 yards.
Rashaan Miller put up the best numbers through the air as the Wolf Pack lost to Valhalla. He finished with nine completions for 106 yards and six touchdowns. Miller's favorite target this week was Dj Lewis, who caught two passes for 39 yards.
Bowers was the best wideout in the league this week as Thomas Karlo's team topped Steele Canyon. Bowers racked up eight receptions for 84 yards. Jt Barnes helped Grossmont's passing attack out by catching eight balls for 55 yards.
The Foothillers' Lawrence and Bowers have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Grossmont - Hills in both passing and receiving yards. Lawrence has thrown for 1842 yards this season, while Bowers, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 35 catches for 556 yards. West Hills' Eric Seaboch leads the league in rushing yards with 533.
Going into this week's game against the Norsemen, Grossmont's Lawrence needs 158 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Valhalla takes on the Foothillers. Charles Bussey's team is currently in fourth, while Grossmont is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Tay Sneddon's team takes on Helix. The Wolf Pack have allowed 127 points this season, while the Highlanders have given up 35. West Hills allowed 45 points last week as it fell to the Norsemen.
Valhalla moved up to 121 from 208 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Norsemen climbed the ranks as a result of besting the Wolf Pack 45-17.
