If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Baker. On Friday they take on Chipley at 7:00 PM. Chipley will need to watch out since Baker have now posted big point totals in their last four contests.
Baker might be getting used to good results now that the team have seven wins in a row. They captured a comfortable 40-20 victory over South Walton. Senior Junior Mclaughlin, who rushed for 384 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in Baker's success. This marked the 4th match in which Mclaughlin has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Chipley, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to four. They fell just short of Freeport by a score of 18-20.
Baker had enough points to win and then some against Chipley the last time the two teams met, taking their matchup 48-28. Baker's win shoved Chipley out of the playoffs, so expect the team will have a target on their back in this one.
