The Slocomb Red Tops will face off against the Carroll Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Slocomb is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Ashford on Saturday as Slocomb made off with a 19-1 victory. With that win, the Red Tops brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.

Wyatt Reeder was incredible, scoring four runs while going 2-for-3. Slocomb is undefeated when Reeder posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dylan Owens, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Slocomb always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Carroll, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 17-2 margin over Early County on Saturday. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Kaden Baxter made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Carroll got a massive performance out of Tyson Burks, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI. Grant Houston was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
The win was the third in a row for Slocomb, bringing their record for this year to 4-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Carroll, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Slocomb has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Carroll struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Slocomb came up short against Carroll when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 9-5. Will Slocomb have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
