The Florida State University High School Seminoles will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Master's Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th. Hopefully Florida State University High School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Florida State University High School can now relate to. They fell to the Bulldogs 47-43. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Florida State University High School has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Amare Robinson, who scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Godwin, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Master's Academy waltzed into their contest on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They enjoyed a cozy 54-36 win over Father Lopez. Given Master's Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Father Lopez is ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Master's Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Devaughn Stallworth out in front who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Stallworth is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Pitts, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Florida State University High School's loss dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Master's Academy, they pushed their record up to 17-9 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Florida State University High School came up short against Master's Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2020, falling 73-64. Thankfully for Florida State University High School, Corey Sawyer (who scored 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
