The L.E.A.D. Academy Lions's three-game losing streak came to an end on Monday. They blew past Destin 48-26. That 48-26 margin sets a new team best for L.E.A.D. Academy this season.
L.E.A.D. Academy found their leader in underclassman Emily Harold, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Lay, who scored four points along with nine rebounds.
L.E.A.D. Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Destin, they bumped their record down to 2-4 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
L.E.A.D. Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Escambia at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th. Escambia is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Destin, they will head out on the road to face off against Freeport at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Freeport presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Destin in Florida (Freeport is ranked 190th, while Destin is ranked 508th).
