The First Assembly Christian Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Whitehaven at home and fell 57-23. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points First Assembly Christian has scored all season.
First Assembly Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Georgia Ahlstrom, who scored five points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, First Assembly Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Whitehaven's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tierney Kelsey, who scored 22 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Layla Hampton, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten assists.

First Assembly Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Hamilton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday. Whitehaven will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Sierra Canyon at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. Sierra Canyon is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
