The Blue Valley Northwest Huskies waltzed into their match Saturday with 15 straight wins dating back to last season but they left with 16. They came out on top against Bentonville West by a score of 54-41. Given Blue Valley Northwest's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked second in Kansas, while Bentonville West is ranked 78th in Arkansas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Blue Valley Northwest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Fritz out in front who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fritz has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Klein, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Blue Valley Northwest pushed their record up to 3-0 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Bentonville West, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Blue Valley Northwest will take on Van Horn in a holiday battle at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at. Bentonville West will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Springdale at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th.
