Redwood is 9-1 against Golden West since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Trailblazers at 4:30 p.m. Redwood will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Golden West's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Redwood hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Rangers never let Monache get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Tuesday.
Not much got past Jackie Ramirez, who gave up just two hits to keep Monache off the board.
At the plate, Redwood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Lopez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. Another was Kenzie Cantu, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Golden West was able to grind out a solid win over Porterville on Tuesday, taking the game 4-1. The victory continues a trend for the Trailblazers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.
Khianna Hardwick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hayden Oliveira, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Reann Boyd also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Golden West lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Redwood's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average this season. As for Golden West, their record now sits at 9-5-1.
Redwood skirted past Golden West 4-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Trailblazers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
