In what's become a running theme this season, the Middle College Bulldogs gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They put the hurt on Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering with a sharp 42-21 win. Winning may never get old, but Middle College sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Leading Middle College to victory were Kiya Mell and Gabrielle Rudd. Mell scored 11 points along with six steals, while Rudd scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Mell hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games.
Middle College pushed their record up to 18-2 with that victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Middle College will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Manassas at 6:00 p.m. Manassas comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Booker T. Washington at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Booker T. Washington is ranked 323rd, while Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering is ranked 299th).
