Colbert Heights hasn't had much luck against Colbert County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Colbert Heights will be strutting in after a victory while Colbert County will be coming in after a defeat.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Tuesday. Everything went Colbert Heights' way against Tharptown as they made off with an 18-6 win. The victory continues a trend for Colbert Heights in their matchups with Tharptown: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on John Ryan Berry, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Colbert Heights is undefeated when Berry posts three or more RBI, but 3-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Hood, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Colbert Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The last time their batting average was this high was was before the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Colbert County lost 24-3 to Hatton on Monday.
Colbert County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Gregory, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Colbert Heights' record now sits at 6-14. As for Colbert County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Colbert Heights has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like Colbert County struggles in that department as they've averaged .440. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Colbert Heights might still be hurting after the 15-5 defeat they got from Colbert County in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
