DeWitt has gone a perfect 6-0 against Lansing Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
DeWitt barely beat Waverly the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 13-3 victory on Monday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Joseph Bobeda was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Bobeda was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Schorfhaar, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those runs were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Liam Stone, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
DeWitt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lansing Catholic). Everything went their way against Bath on Friday as they made off with an 11-1 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Ethan Link was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Elijah Jungwirth was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.
DeWitt's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Lansing Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
DeWitt came out on top in a nail-biter against Lansing Catholic when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
