Elbert County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Tallulah Falls Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Elbert County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
Elbert County pushed their score all the way to 61, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 79-61 to Rabun County. Elbert County was down 62-40 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the defeat, Elbert County got a solid performance out of Grady Jones, who scored 29 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Hill, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Tallulah Falls' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 62-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rabun County. Tallulah Falls has not had much luck with Rabun County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Elbert County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Tallulah Falls, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-16.
Elbert County lost to Tallulah Falls on the road by a decisive 70-52 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Elbert County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
