Cary put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 32-29 victory over the Sanderson Spartans.
Nick Grena had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 102 yards and three scores, while also throwing for 144 yards and one TD. Tony Stephens was another key player, rushing for 72 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cary was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 235 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 195 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Cary's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Sanderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
