The Browne Bruins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against West Point, falling 76-43. While losing is never fun, Browne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while West Point is ranked 109th).
Despite the loss, Browne still got an impressive performance from Raevonta Hill, who scored 23 points. The game was Hill's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Josh Perez was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Browne struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Browne's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-7. As for West Point, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Browne will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Arcadia at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th. Arcadia is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. West Point won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Carl Hayden Community at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Carl Hayden Community knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully West Point likes a good challenge.
