Twin Lakes barely beat Frontier the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians' pitchers stepped up to hand the Falcons a 12-0 shutout on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.
Madalyn Bird made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Twin Lakes let Taylor Oliver and Quinn Gilford run wild. Oliver went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run, while Gilford went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Meanwhile, Lafayette Jefferson didn't have quite enough to beat Western Boone on Thursday and fell 5-4. The Bronchos have struggled against the Stars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Abbigail Griffith was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Twin Lakes' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-17. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lafayette Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Twin Lakes hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315.
