The John Glenn Little Muskies will face off against the Meadowbrook Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in John Glenn's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
Last Saturday, John Glenn strolled past Sheridan with points to spare, taking the game 68-52. Given the Little Muskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Generals are ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
John Glenn can attribute much of their success to Cj Dolan, who went 7 of 11 en route to 19 points and six assists, and Brayden Davis, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 16 points along with eight boards and three steals. Davis continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Stehl Bates, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points and five assists.
Meanwhile, Meadowbrook played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Crooksville, falling 65-45. The Colts haven't had much luck with the Ceramics recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
John Glenn will need focus on slowing down Austin Warner, one of several Meadowbrook players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Ray, who put up ten points.
John Glenn's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Meadowbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: John Glenn has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Meadowbrook struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.3 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
John Glenn took their victory against Meadowbrook in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 72-50. Will John Glenn repeat their success, or does Meadowbrook have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
