It was a good run, but the Mount Calvary Christian Chargers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lancaster County Christian by a score of 58-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery Kopcha, who scored 13 points along with six assists and three steals. Kopcha is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Josiah Masters was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Luke Richardson was nothing short of spectacular for Lancaster County Christian: he scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Richardson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Esbenshade, who scored 13 points.
Mount Calvary Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Lancaster County Christian, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Mount Calvary Christian will square off against the Sabers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lancaster County Christian, they will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Greenwood is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
