Clovis has won four straight games at home, while Clovis West has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Cougars will welcome the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Clovis' favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
Clovis is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Central East just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bengals. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (42), the Cougars still had to take the loss.

James Curoso, who rushed for 117 yards and three scores, and also picked up 104 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, was perhaps the best of all. Curoso has been hot, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last six times he's played. Deagan Rose was another key passer, throwing for 367 yards and four touchdowns.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Clovis West ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They managed a 30-24 victory over Clovis North. With that win, the Golden Eagles brought their scoring average up to 26 points per game.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Jamar (JJ) Howard and Lucas Smith. Howard had a great game and threw for 237 yards and a pair of TDs. Meanwhile, Smith was balling out in the loss, throwing for 246 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 79 yards.
One reason for the win was Clovis West's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Elijah Amatt, Zachary Fortier, and Kamakana Corpuz, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Clovis North's side was Amatt, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Clovis West's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Clovis, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.
Clovis didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Clovis West when the teams last played back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 14-10 win. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
