The Grenada Chargers will head out on the road to square off against the Olive Branch Conquistadors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Grenada strolled past South Panola with points to spare, taking the game 63-47.
Grenada's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jarques Perry, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds, and Caleb Howard, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Perry is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. Kelton Jones was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Olive Branch can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They put the hurt on Saltillo with a sharp 90-66 win. The win was nothing new for Olive Branch as they're now sitting on three straight.
Grenada's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Olive Branch, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
Grenada was taken down by Olive Branch 88-61 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Grenada avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
