The Cunningham Wildcats came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Skyline by a score of 59-49. This was payback for Cunningham, who suffered a 65-64 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Leading Cunningham to victory were Will Wegerer and Luke Albers. Wegerer dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Albers scored 22 points along with four steals. Albers is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in the last five games he's played.
Cunningham has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Skyline, they now have a losing record at 7-8-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cunningham will challenge Stafford at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cunningham is coming into the matchup with three straight wins on the road, so Stafford is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Skyline, they will take on Central Christian on Tuesday. Skyline is facing Central Christian at the right time seeing as Central Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
