There's no place like home for the Cornerstone Family Saints, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Faith Christian Academy by a score of 52-45 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cornerstone Family also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Kaylee Heinen was her usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abi Krehbiel, who scored nine points.
Cornerstone Family's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. As for Faith Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Family won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Shawnee Mission Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 last Tuesday. As for Faith Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Nighthawks at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
