Basketball Recap: Jonah Boulanger Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Thunder Basin

Kelly Walsh hadn't done well against Thunder Basin recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Kelly Walsh Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-41 victory over the Thunder Basin Bolts. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Bolts back in December of 2024, they had to take a 63-56 loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kelly Walsh to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jonah Boulanger, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave Boulanger a new career-high. Duncan Gillum was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Kelly Walsh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Kelly Walsh's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Thunder Basin, they moved to 4-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
