Aniak put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Kalskag Grizzly Bears. That's the fifth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-0 win last Friday.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Aniak who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 21-25, 15-7.

Gavin Smith paced Aniak's offense, picking up 19 kills. Smith got some help from Corrin Morgan and her ten assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Aniak's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Kalskag, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-8.

Coincidentally, Aniak and Kalskag will both be playing Tanalian the next time they take the court. The Grizzly Bears will host the Lynx at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Halfbreeds will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
