Eagle Ridge Academy's three-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They strolled past Dawson School with points to spare, taking the game 60-42. The win was just what Eagle Ridge Academy needed coming off of a 54-31 defeat in their prior matchup.
Eagle Ridge Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Garcia led the charge by scoring 18 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Wanrow was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Vista PEAK Prep entered their tilt with Windsor with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Vista PEAK Prep took down Windsor 65-48 on Thursday.
Vista PEAK Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Polk out in front who scored 18 points. The contest was Polk's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Javon Lowman, who scored 17 points.
Eagle Ridge Academy's record is now 2-3. As for Vista PEAK Prep, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Eagle Ridge Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 25.4 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Vista PEAK Prep, though, as they've been averaging only 28 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
