Indian Land hasn't had much luck against Northwestern recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Indian Land is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Friday, Indian Land didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Fort Mill, but they still walked away with a 20-16 victory. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 38th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jamol Horton had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 156 yards and one score. Matt Kucia was another key player, having thrown for 285 yards and two touchdowns.
Indian Land's run defense was locked in: Fort Mill could only muster 2.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Jackson Conner for the heroic effort on defense: he. Indian Land didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.6.
Indian Land's defense also made the game a nightmare for Quinn Kelly, racking up seven sacks. In that department, Michael Foster was the leader with three. Another thorn in Fort Mill's side was Jackson Headley, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Northwestern over Rock Hill in every quarter on their way to victory last Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Trojans blew the Bearcats out of the water with a 45-14 final score. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won seven in a row.
Indian Land better focus on containing Zykel Reid and Xavier Means as the pair were huge in Northwestern's win. Reid rushed for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries, while Means rushed for 90 yards and two TDs. The dominant performance also gave Reid a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two).
Special teams played a big role in the game for Northwestern, adding 15 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Amarian Coleman, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Indian Land's record now sits at 9-0. As for Northwestern, their record is now 8-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Indian Land has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 192.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Northwestern struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 233.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Indian Land was dealt a bruising 49-6 loss at the hands of Northwestern in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Warriors were down 35-6.
