North Rowan (Spencer, N.C.) defeated Owen (Black Mountain, N.C.) 55-22 while riding the arm of
Alexis Archie, who tossed four touchdown passes.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Archie to
Darrell Taylor in the first quarter, the Cavaliers were up 20-15 at the half.
North Rowan expanded its lead to 26 points entering the fourth quarter. NR scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown.
With the win the Spencer school extended its winning streak to 13 games. North Rowan defeated Surry Central 42-0 last week.
North Rowan's most effective player was Archie. The junior quarterback threw four touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Owen, who notched a 13-0 victory over Mount Pleasant in its previous outing.
