The Strom Thurmond Rebels posted their biggest win since November 14, 2023 on Wednesday. They blew past Batesburg-Leesville, posting a 54-19 victory on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Strom Thurmond also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Katlyn Chinn, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Lawson Lowe was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
The win got Strom Thurmond back to even at 9-9. As for Batesburg-Leesville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Strom Thurmond won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th. Columbia comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last 12 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Batesburg-Leesville, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fox Creek at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Fox Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Thursday.
