Given Fox Creek's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 135th in South Carolina, while Westminster Schools of Augusta is ranked 461st in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Connor Cannon was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Fox Creek's points. Kobe Sims was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Henry Campbell, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Ketterman, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds.
Fox Creek has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Westminster Schools of Augusta, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Fox Creek will head out on the road to take on Strom Thurmond at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westminster Schools of Augusta, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Frederica Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Frederica Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
