The Daniel Lions won the last time they faced the Blacksburg Wildcats, and things went their way on Friday too. Daniel blew past Blacksburg 87-54 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-22.
Daniel can attribute much of their success to Tristyn Carrington, who scored 16 points along with 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Simms Disbrow, who scored 13 points.
Despite the loss, Blacksburg had strong showings from Christian Federico, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds, and Tracy Smith, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Smith hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Daniel has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Blacksburg, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Daniel will head out on the road to face off against Easley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blacksburg, they will be playing at home against Broome at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
