San Pedro will face off against Birmingham in a playoff game on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a win streak alive as San Pedro skips in on three wins and Birmingham on five.
San Pedro got themselves on the board against Carson last week, but Carson never followed suit. The Pirates escaped their match against Carson unscathed, winning 17 to nothing. The Pirates' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Joshua Johnson, who caught four passes for 137 yards and one TD, and Josh Ward, who rushed for 95 yards and one TD on 19 carries. That receiving effort made it the first game that Johnson has posted more than 100 yards receiving.
Meanwhile, Birmingham earned some postseason bragging rights after a successful outing last Friday. They captured a comfortable 34-14 win over Garfield. Jackson Dadich was the offensive standout of the contest for the Patriots, as he passed for 243 yards and three TDs. Dadich has now produced at least one touchdown in the past six games.
With both teams having displayed their playoff mettle, spectators can expect a high-quality matchup. Keep track of this and all the high school football postseason action on MaxPreps.com.
