The Ritchie County Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Summers County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ritchie County has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Ritchie County saw an underclassman step up: Isaac Hodges dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Hodges scored a full 52.5% of Ritchie County's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Garrett Flesher, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Ritchie County's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-3. As for Summers County, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Ritchie County will head out on the road to face off against Williamstown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Williamstown has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 440 points over their last six contests. Summers County's road trip will continue as they head out to face WestSide at 1:00 p.m. on January 5th.
