The Campbell County Camels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 68-42 defeat at the hands of Central. While losing is never fun, Campbell County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Central is ranked first).
Several Camels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rylan Robertson, who scored nine points along with two steals. Nate Williams was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Campbell County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 18-1.
Campbell County will head out on the road to square off against Sheridan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sheridan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Campbell County likes a good challenge. As for Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 matches -- so hopefully South likes a good challenge.
