New Covenant is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Eastern Mennonite as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Embry Carlton had a dynamite game, getting 14 digs and four aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.
Carlton wasn't the only good servers: New Covenant was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 21 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, North Cross got the win against Virginia Episcopal School on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant North Cross was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-14, 25-9.
New Covenant's victory bumped their record up to 19-4. As for North Cross, their win bumped their record up to 21-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: New Covenant has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 11.9 aces per game. However, it's not like North Cross struggles in that department as they've been averaging 14.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
New Covenant came up short against North Cross when the teams last played back in September, falling 3-1. Can the Gryphons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
