AAAAA Region 6 recap November 19, 2013
Dunwoody scaled the state rankings by moving to 237 from 263 this week, the biggest jump in AAAAA Region 6.
Stephenson was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Flowery Branch. The Jaguars came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 36 last week.
Mays's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ayinde Russell threw for 95 yards and Randrecous Davis had 39 yards receiving. On the ground Davis chipped in 156 yards. Julius Whitehead helped Mays' passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 30 yards.
Davis was a passing and rushing force as the Raiders bested Clarke Central. Davis' favorite target this week was Davis, who caught 4 passes for 39 yards.
Russell put up the best numbers in passing as Mays defeated the Gladiators.
Corey Jarvis' team's Russell and Tyshawn Brown led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Russell has thrown for 1,587 yards this season, while Brown has 37 catches for 582 yards. Lakeside's Kellyen Walker leads the league in rushing yards with 878.
Tucker added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Heritage, 35-14. The win marks 11th in a row for the the Tigers.
