The Gladewater Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Tatum Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Gladewater is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest loss since February 13th on Friday. They fell just short of Troup by a score of 7-5. The Bears have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Tinsley Aldredge was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Aldredge was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Katelyn Pugliese made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Caydence Martin, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Arp hit Tatum with a nine-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 14-1 to the Tigers.
Kumora Chatman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
Gladewater's record now sits at 7-13. As for Tatum, their record is now 2-11-1.
Tatum's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Gladewater has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434. It's a different story for Tatum, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Gladewater's hitters?
Everything went Gladewater's way against Tatum in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Gladewater made off with an 11-3 victory. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
