The Indian Hill Braves will head out on the road to square off against the Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Indian Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Indian Hill will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Reading on Wednesday. The Braves' pitcher stepped up to hand the Blue Devils a 10-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won seven in a row.
Devlan Daniel made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Daniel was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Sichel, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. He also put up two RBI, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brady Drost, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Madeira). They had just enough and edged out Mariemont 14-13. The win was nothing new for the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS as they're now sitting on three straight.
Eli Beck was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-5. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Kane Temar was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Madeira always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Madeira pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Indian Hill, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Indian Hill has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Madeira struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Indian Hill's way against Madeira when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Indian Hill made off with a 14-3 victory. Do the Braves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
