The Clairton Bears can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Saturday. They blew past Frazier 63-27 on the road. Given Clairton's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Frazier is ranked 540th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Iyanna Wade, who scored 43 points. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Clairton's points. J Childs was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Frazier lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Allie Yauch, who scored seven points along with two steals. Yauch hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Malana Burton, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Clairton's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Frazier, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Clairton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Winchester Thurston at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. As for Frazier, they will be playing in front of their home fans against California at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
