The Ridgeline Riverhawks's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Woods Cross Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard on Wednesday.
On Saturday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Ridgeline had to settle for a 66-63 loss against Westlake. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Ridgeline came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Westlake is ranked 93rd).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jagger Francom, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Carson Cox was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Woods Cross, who are still winless after their seventh match. They were outmatched by Alta on the road and fell 86-59. That's two games in a row now that Woods Cross has lost by exactly 27 points.
Ridgeline's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Woods Cross, they have fallen quite a ways from their 18-5 record last season and are now at 0-7.
Ridgeline came up short against Woods Cross when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 66-53. Can Ridgeline avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
